B i o g r a p h y

From a young age Rebecca had a passion for music and was encouraged to participate in musical activities. She was started on trumpet by her father and later taught by members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra; Rhys Owens and Paul Marsden. Rebecca continued her studies on Classical Trumpet Performance to degree level at Birmingham Conservatoire. Whilst at the Conservatoire she received tuition from; Paul Mayes, Andrew Stone-Fewings, Alan Thomas, David Blackadder, Kristian Steenstrup and Jon Holland, and Jazz Trumpet from Percy Pursglove. Rebecca was an active student at Birmingham Conservatoire, performing in many of the conservatoire’s ensembles and orchestras, and also became involved in ensembles outside of her university including; Birmingham Philharmonic Orchestra and the Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra. Rebecca also manages and performs in a couple of her own ensembles including a brass quintet and a ska band.
Having finished her studies at Birmingham Conservatoire in 2012, Rebecca is now based in London, where she has already been performing in a London musical, Daneille Tarento and Tom Southerland’s highly regarded production of Mack and Mabel, which has received many five star reviews. Some of Rebecca’s other performance experiences also include; guest soloist with the Worcestershire Male Voice Choir, principal trumpet in the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, European Youth Music Week course and a number of amateur orchestras and ensembles around Birmingham.
